This post seems like a very late post of my trip. In my previous post I wrote that I went to Indonesia for conferences in Bali. I was there for 2 weeks and I went to some places during the break between the conferences. I invited my sister to come to Bali during the weekend to do some trip with me. Here are the places I went to during those two days trip. For the trip, I booked a car along with the driver. I will put the detail about the driver and how to contact him at the end of this post.
1st Day
On the first day, we went to the places inland. We had a simple breakfast at the hotel we stayed the night before. This hotel is located in Ubud, in the middle part of Bali Island. The price is quite cheap compares to other hotel in this area. I stayed there for a night because I already booked another hotel in Nusa Dua.

Tari Barong Batubulan

There are a lot of traditional dances in Bali. Tari Barong is one of them. The ticket to the performance is Rp100000 (AU$10) per person. In the website, it is written that we have to book the ticket 3 days before we come. However, at that time I just come and pay on the spot. Maybe the price will be cheaper if you booked beforehand. The performance start at 09.30 local time and it takes around an hour to finish.
Traditional Village Penglipuran

After the show, we moved to the next destination. The traditional village in Bali called Penglipuran Village. In this place, the entrance is quite cheap. To enter the village we just need to pay Rp15000 (AU$1.5) per person. In this village, we can enter any houses. In most houses, they sell some food and souvenirs for the visitors. Even though it's only a small village with one main road, the view is amazing.

Tirta Empul Holy Spring

| Nice sarong ^_^ |
As our stomach is full of food from the buffet, it's time for another walk. The next destination is Tirta Empul, a Holy Spring for the Hindus people. There is a temple near the spring. In Bali, everytime you go to a temple you have to wear something to cover your knee. I came with a short pants, so I need to wear a sarong before entering the area. IThey also have another rule for female. If you are a female on your period, you can't enter the temple area. Therefore, you have to be careful when you plan your trip to Bali. The ticket to enter the spring is Rp15000 (AU$1.5) per person.

Krisna Oleh-Oleh Centre
When we back from the spring, it's late already. We need to go from Gianyar which is in the center part of the island to Nusa Dua, the south part of the island. So we went directly to the south. Because we still have sometime before it's getting dark, we stopped by to buy some souvenirs. The price of the souvenirs and snacks here is not cheap, but not too expensive either. If you want a cheaper place, you can go to the markets, but the rule is you have to bargain. In Krisna, they already have a fixed price for every item, so you don't have to bargain. Unfortunately I didn't take any picture here, I just too busy choosing the snacks and souvenirs I want to buy.
Off to the hotel
Finally we finish our first day trip in Bali. The driver drop us in our hotel in Nusa Dua and promise to pick us up tomorrow for another trip. Originally I just booked him for a day, but he offered to take us for another trip in our second day. That's the end of our trip that day. I will post our second day trip in another post. I hope I can finish it soon. See you in the next post...
